Logan Square Is Leveling Up: A New Splash Pad Vote, a Vintage Shop Opening, and a Century-Old Building's Big Comeback
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Logan Square ·
Spring has arrived in Logan Square — and the neighborhood is blooming with fresh energy on multiple fronts. First, some exciting news for families: Unity Park is getting a brand-new splash pad, and neighbors get to pick the design. The Chicago Park District is upgrading the water feature to be more accessible to children with limited mobility, and voting is open through May 1. You can cast your ballot online or in person at the 35th Ward Office at 2934 N. Milwaukee Ave. The rehab is slated to be complete this year — just in time for summer fun.
Milwaukee Avenue also welcomed a stylish new arrival this week. Nonstop Vintage officially opened April 4 at 2334 N. Milwaukee Ave., brought to the neighborhood by Arturo Calendar and Jane Carten — the duo behind Wicker Park's beloved Bodega Vintage. The shop specializes in curated Y2K European fashion from Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom, plus vinyl records, footwear, and accessories at affordable prices. Open Thursday through Sunday with late-night hours on weekends, it's the perfect new destination for a Friday evening browse.
And on the development front, construction has officially kicked off on the long-awaited Hollander redevelopment at 2418–2428 N. Milwaukee Ave. — the site of a moving and storage company that anchored the block for over a century. The project will bring 62 loft-style apartments, including 12 below-market-rate units, plus multiple retail storefronts to the block. Logan Square is moving forward — go vote on that splash pad design and swing by Nonstop Vintage this weekend!
