Full Throttle: F1 Arcade Is Bringing Racing Simulators and a Brand-New Entertainment Era to River North This Summer
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Near North ·
Near North neighbors, buckle up — your neighborhood is about to get one of the most thrilling new entertainment destinations in the entire city. F1 Arcade, the globally acclaimed Formula One-licensed racing simulator venue, has confirmed it's opening this summer at 1 W. Grand Ave. in River North — the former home of the beloved Rock Bottom Brewery, which closed in 2023. The Chicago location will be the ninth F1 Arcade in the world and one of the fastest-growing entertainment concepts around, with the brand planning 30 global locations in the next five years.
The venue is no ordinary arcade. F1 Arcade holds an exclusive Formula One license and features immersive racing simulators designed to put guests behind the wheel of the world's most iconic motorsport. The Chicago spot carries extra significance: F1 Arcade's U.S. headquarters is based right here in Chicago, making this River North opening feel like a true homecoming. "Chicago is a city that thrives on energy, competition and unforgettable experiences, which makes it a natural home for F1 Arcade," said Jon Gardner, president of global development, adding that the venue is "designed specifically for the city and its culture."
And if you're looking to connect with fellow Near North professionals before the grand opening buzz kicks in, mark your calendar for the Greater River North Business Association's April Professional Interchange on Tuesday, April 21 — a neighborhood networking mixer with food and fun. River North's social calendar is officially in overdrive. Are you excited for F1 Arcade to arrive this summer? Drop your reaction in the Socialhood comments below!
