Sloop in Bloom: South Loop Neighbors Invites You to Stroll Into Spring at Spoke & Bird Café
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/South Loop ·
Spring has fully arrived in the South Loop — and the neighborhood's go-to community organization wants to celebrate it with you, on foot. South Loop Neighbors is hosting a Spring Stroll to Spoke & Bird Café on Sunday, May 17, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, gathering at 1240 S. Plymouth Court for an afternoon of easy walking, good company, and great coffee. It's exactly the kind of low-key, high-charm event that makes the Sloop feel like a real neighborhood.
The outing is organized by South Loop Neighbors, the non-profit membership organization dedicated to enhancing quality of life and preserving the area's landmark districts. From community walks to informational forums, the group has long been the connective tissue holding the neighborhood together — and this spring stroll is a perfect invitation for newer residents and longtime Sloopers alike to meet their neighbors face-to-face. Spoke & Bird, tucked into Plymouth Court in the heart of Printer's Row, brings its own neighborhood-gem energy to the gathering.
And if you're looking to kick off the warmer months in high gear, Fleet Feet South Loop is also hosting a Summer Open House — a great chance to discover running routes, gear, and the local running community just in time for Chicago's outdoor season. Between a community stroll and a running store celebration, the South Loop's spring social calendar is officially heating up. Will you be joining the Spring Stroll on May 17? RSVP at southloopneighbors.org and let the Socialhood community know you'll be there!
