Pages, Programs & Community: Archer Heights Branch Library Packs the Calendar This May

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Archer Heights ·

If you haven't made it to the Archer Heights Branch Library lately, this weekend is your reason to go. The neighborhood's beloved Chicago Public Library branch is rolling into a packed stretch of May programming, with events on the books for Saturday, May 10 and a full day of activities on Sunday, May 11 — including an evening event running from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. that rounds out what looks like one of the library's busiest community weekends of the spring.

The library has been a consistent hub of free, accessible programming for Archer Heights families all month long, with events scheduled nearly every week in May for kids, teens, and adults. Sessions are available in both English and Spanish, and the branch also offers ongoing homework help through its Teacher in the Library program — drop-in support from a certified teacher available on Thursdays from 3–6 p.m. and Sundays from 1:30–4:30 p.m. For neighbors navigating digital skills, the library also runs classes covering computers, email, internet safety, and job searching.

It's a reminder of just how much this neighborhood anchor delivers — week in, week out, completely free of charge. The Archer Heights Branch is located on Archer Avenue (enter from Archer Ave. or 51st Street), with parking available on-site.
