Taylor Street's Beloved Little Italy Festa Is Gearing Up for 2026 — and Little Italy Is Ready to Celebrate
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/University Village Little Italy ·
University Village Little Italy has more than one reason to mark the calendar this summer. While the neighborhood's Taylor Street Festival is already locked in for August 13–16, a second beloved summer tradition is also revving up: the Taylor Street Little Italy Festa, a separate annual street celebration produced by Ron Onesti of Onesti Entertainment that transforms the stretch of Taylor Street between Ashland and Loomis into a full-blown Italian cultural extravaganza.
The Festa — free to attend and open to all — is a deeply rooted community event featuring five stages of live entertainment, authentic Italian food from neighborhood vendors, imported merchandise, cultural exhibits, and carnival-style activities. Think steak and rapini sandwiches, pistachio cream cannoli, live tribute acts, and the unmistakable aroma of roasted garlic drifting down one of Chicago's most storied blocks. After a record-breaking attendance year in 2023 and another strong showing in 2024, Onesti Entertainment is now actively seeking sponsors and vendor participants for the 2026 edition — a sign that planning is well underway and the Festa's momentum is very much alive.
For a neighborhood that wears its Italian-American heritage with such pride, having two distinct summer street celebrations on the horizon is a genuine gift. Keep an eye on @LittleItalyFestTaylorStreet on Facebook for 2026 date announcements — and when they drop, tag @SocialhoodChicago with #LittleItalyFesta so we can count down together!
