Treasure Hunt on Clark Street: Vintiques & Company Brings Vintage Collective Magic to Andersonville
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Andersonville ·
Vintage lovers, rejoice — Andersonville's Clark Street just got a whole lot more interesting. Vintiques & Company, a new multi-vendor vintage shop at 5432 N. Clark St., officially celebrated its ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, May 2, cementing its place as the neighborhood's newest locally rooted retail destination. The store had already been quietly welcoming customers for several weeks before making it official.
Behind the concept is Karen Castillo Mavros, who also owns The New Lincoln Antique Mall at 3115 W. Irving Park Road in Irving Park. At Vintiques & Company, 15 vendors sell everything from artwork and home décor to clothing and furniture under one roof — a model Castillo Mavros says gives small sellers who couldn't afford their own storefront a real chance to thrive. With vendors regularly rotating their stock, every visit is guaranteed to turn up something new. As one of Vintiques' vendors put it, Andersonville is already a "destination spot" for vintage and antiques shoppers — and this store only deepens that reputation.
For Castillo Mavros, the warm welcome from neighbors has been the biggest reward. "Everyone's really friendly, really welcoming and supportive of other small businesses," she said. Whether you're an interior designer hunting for a statement piece or simply searching for something that sparks a little nostalgia, Vintiques & Company is well worth a stroll down Clark Street. Stop by and show some love for the newest addition to the neighborhood!
