Fresh, Local & Back Again: Andersonville Farmers Market Opens Its 17th Season This Week

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Andersonville ·

After a long winter, the smell of fresh produce and the buzz of community is back on the North Side. The Andersonville Farmers Market officially opened its 17th season this Wednesday, May 13, kicking off a beloved weekly tradition that runs every Wednesday from 3–7 p.m. through October 21. The market is set up on the 1500 block of W. Winona, between Clark Street and Ashland Avenue, along with the adjacent AT&T parking lot.

This year's market is bigger and more community-minded than ever. With more than 60 vendors offering goods grown or produced within a 200-mile radius, shoppers can count on hyper-local, farm-fresh finds every single week. The market also continues its popular Link matching program — a one-to-one match for Link card holders, making healthy, local food more accessible for all neighbors. Throughout the season, expect weekly entertainment, cooking demos, and dedicated kids' activities woven into every market day.

A rotating cast of community booth participants will pop up all season long, including Perpetual Books, Nicholas Holman Art, Dramatic Chromatic, and State Representative Kelly Cassidy, who will be on hand sharing SNAP information and helping with voter registration. It's farmers market season, Andersonville — and there's no better way to spend a Wednesday afternoon.
