Draw Your Mark: Chalk Howard Street 2026 Is Coming — and Rogers Park Wants You In It
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Rogers Park ·
Rogers Park's most visually spectacular summer tradition is officially on the calendar — and organizers are rolling out the welcome mat for vendors, artists, and festival-goers alike. The Rogers Park Business Alliance has announced that Chalk Howard Street 2026, billed as Chicago's only 3D chalk art festival, is set for Saturday, August 22, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. along Howard Street between Paulina Street and Ashland Avenue.
The festival transforms one of the neighborhood's most iconic thoroughfares into a living, walkable gallery of jaw-dropping chalk art — with thousands of visitors expected to wander the street, snapping photos and marveling at larger-than-life optical illusions and colorful murals drawn directly onto the pavement. Live music, food, and a buzzing community atmosphere round out the experience, making it one of the Far North Side's most beloved late-summer celebrations. The RPBA is currently accepting vendor applications, giving local businesses a prime opportunity to get their brand in front of a massive, engaged crowd.
Whether you're a longtime Rogers Park resident or a first-time visitor, Chalk Howard Street is the kind of only-in-Rogers-Park event that turns a single city block into pure magic. Mark your calendar for August 22, and if you run a business or know someone who does, head to rpba.org now to apply as a vendor — because spots on Howard Street won't last long!
