Free Dance Lessons Under the Stars: Chicago SummerDance Is Coming to Humboldt Park's Boathouse This Summer

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Humboldt Park ·

Humboldt Park's iconic Boathouse is about to get a whole lot more lively. The Chicago Park District has announced that its beloved Chicago SummerDance in the Parks series will make a stop right on the lagoon's edge at 1301 N. Humboldt Drive this summer — and best of all, it's completely free.

Scheduled for Wednesday, July 29 from 4:30–7:30 p.m., the event is a full-on social dance party open to all ages and abilities. Neighbors can expect free dance instruction followed by live music and DJs, with each neighborhood stop in the series also featuring creative activities led by local artists. Whether you've been dancing for decades or have never set foot on a dance floor, SummerDance is designed to welcome everyone — no experience required.

With Puerto Rican Fest (June 11–14) and the Water Lantern Festival (July 12) already anchoring what's shaping up to be an extraordinary summer on Paseo Boricua, SummerDance adds yet another reason to get outside and connect with your neighbors. Mark your calendar for July 29 and head to ChicagoSummerDance.org for the full series lineup — then show up to the Boathouse ready to move.
