Andersonville Is About to Have Its Biggest June Ever — A 60th Anniversary, Pride Fest & Four Stages of Music
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Andersonville ·
June is shaping up to be a landmark month for Andersonville, and neighbors have two major celebrations circled on their calendars. First up: Midsommarfest 2026, arriving June 12–14 — and this year marks the festival's milestone 60th anniversary. The three-day celebration returns to the Clark Street corridor with a packed schedule: Friday evening kicks off with live music and street food vendors, Saturday features the beloved Official Opening Ceremonies and Maypole Raising at 11 a.m., and Sunday closes out with shopping, dance performances, and local vendor markets. Across all three days, four stages will host local bands, dance ensembles, drag performances, and a traditional ABBA tribute. A
Then, just two weeks later, Andersonville plays host to the Back Lot Bash on June 27–28, a women-centered festival that's part of Chicago's citywide Pride Month lineup. It's a one-two punch of community, music, and celebration that perfectly captures what makes this North Side neighborhood so special all summer long.
Whether you're raising a Maypole or raising the roof at Back Lot Bash, Andersonville is the place to be this June. Check andersonville.org for full Midsommarfest details and mark both weekends on your calendar — this is one summer you won't want to sit out!
