Shaken, Not Stirred: Marty's Martini Bar Has a New Home — and a New Chapter — in Andersonville

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Andersonville ·

One of Andersonville's most beloved cocktail institutions is back — and better than ever. Marty's Martini Bar, the upscale neighborhood watering hole that first opened in 2004 under founder Marty Rogo, has relaunched at a brand-new address: 1477 W. Winnemac Ave. The move, which happened last November under new ownership, marks a fresh chapter for a bar that built a fiercely loyal following over two decades of expertly crafted martinis.

The bar is now under the wing of 2Bears Tavern Group, the team behind some of the North Side's most celebrated LGBTQ+-friendly spots, including 2Bears Tavern in Uptown, SoFo Tap, and Meeting House Tavern — also in Andersonville. The new Winnemac Avenue location is actually housed in the same building as Meeting House Tavern, making it a natural fit within the 2Bears family. And the spirit of the original is very much intact: Marty's still pours its signature dry martinis, cosmopolitans, French martinis, and a full lineup of dessert and chocolate martinis that fans have always adored.

With Midsommarfest kicking off tonight on Clark Street and Pride Month in full swing, there's no better weekend to raise a glass at one of Andersonville's most storied bars. Stop by 1477 W. Winnemac Ave. and toast to new beginnings — the martinis are cold, the welcome is warm, and the neighborhood has never felt more alive.
