Uptown's dining landscape is expanding with the arrival of Krispy Krunchy Chicken at 4806 N. Broadway, filling the space previously occupied by longtime neighborhood favorite Fiesta Mexicana. The new eatery, recognizable by its bright yellow signage recently installed at the location, represents a unique addition to the area as a standalone store rather than the gas station or laundromat locations typically associated with the chain.
The popular Cajun-style fried chicken restaurant, which operates more than 3,200 locations across 47 states, has been on an aggressive expansion path with plans to open hundreds of new locations in 2025. According to local sources, while the Broadway location isn't yet listed on the official Krispy Krunchy website, residents can expect doors to open by early 2026. This development continues the positive trend of new food businesses establishing themselves along this vital commercial corridor.
Uptown residents looking forward to trying the new establishment can expect the chain's signature Cajun-style fried chicken, along with sides and other menu offerings. The addition of Krispy Krunchy Chicken provides another affordable dining option for the neighborhood while helping to revitalize a commercial space that had remained vacant since October 2024.
