Award-Winning Ragadan Owner Expands Uptown's Culinary Scene with New Pizza Joint

Uptown's Broadway corridor continues to evolve as a dining destination with the addition of A Pizza Pie, the latest venture from acclaimed chef Danny Sweis, owner of the Jean Banchet Award-winning restaurant Ragadan. Located at 4449 N. Broadway, the new pizza establishment offers medium-thick crust pizzas by the pie and slice, with all signature pies priced under $20.
Sweis aims for A Pizza Pie to be the neighborhood's go-to option for family pizza nights, school events, and community gatherings. "We're not looking to shoot for the moon or get on 'best of' lists. We just want to be the option for people that are like, 'I got my kid's birthday party, I need 10 pizzas, I don't want to pay a thousand dollars for it,'" Sweis said. The shop offers a stripped-down menu of nine signature pizzas and a create-your-own pizza option, along with wings and salads, with thin-crust options and desserts coming soon. While primarily a take-out operation, the restaurant does provide a few tables for dine-in customers.
Uptown residents eager to try this new neighborhood spot can visit Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm, or Sundays from noon to 8:00 pm. A Pizza Pie's November special features cup and char pepperoni with pickled jalapeño and fresh basil—a perfect comfort food as winter approaches.
