Uptown's commitment to supporting veterans continues this season as No Salt Sailing announces its Winter Fundraiser on December 15, 2025, at The Reservoir in Buena Park. This innovative nonprofit, based in Uptown Chicago, provides therapeutic sailing experiences for veterans, active military personnel, and their families on Lake Michigan.

The winter fundraiser follows the organization's successful September golf outing at Sydney Marovitz Golf Course, which raised crucial funds for their sailing programs. "We create a learning environment for wounded, disabled, and transitioning veterans to develop maritime skills while promoting both physical and mental well-being," explains Captain Michael Stenson, the organization's founder. The December event will feature a silent auction, live music, and opportunities for community members to learn about volunteer possibilities for the upcoming 2026 sailing season.
