Washington Park's Arts Block Unveils Special Holiday Walking Tour Series for December 2025

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Washington Park ·

Washington Park residents are invited to experience the neighborhood's cultural gems through a special holiday edition of the Arts Block walking tours launching this December. Arts + Public Life (APL) has announced an expanded winter schedule for their popular guided explorations of the creative spaces along Garfield Boulevard, featuring festive decorations and seasonal programming.

The enhanced December tours will take visitors through four key venues: the Arts Incubator, Green Line Performing Arts Center, L1 Retail Store with its Entrepreneur-in-Residence Peter Gaona, and the recently developed Arts Lawn. "We're creating opportunities for neighbors to connect with local artists and entrepreneurs while celebrating the season," explained an APL representative. The L1 Retail Store, housed in a historic 1892 'L' station building, will feature special holiday merchandise from South Side creators throughout the month.

Community members interested in participating in these free cultural experiences can register through the Arts + Public Life website or visit their offices at 301 E. Garfield Boulevard. The holiday walking tours complement the Chicago Park District's winter programming at the nearby Washington Park Fieldhouse, offering residents multiple ways to engage with arts and culture as 2025 comes to a close.
