Jigzibik: Chicago's First Native American Housing Development Nears Completion in Irving Park
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Irving Park ·
Chicago's first Native American-focused affordable housing development, Jigzibik, has topped out at 2907-2917 West Irving Park Road. The seven-story building with its distinctive sawtooth design and inset balconies has risen to its full height after construction began on the previously vacant mid-block lot last summer.
Co-developers Full Circle Communities and Visionary Ventures are creating 45 affordable housing units in the 62,000-square-foot structure, with a mix of 10 studio apartments, 15 one-bedroom, 10 two-bedroom, and 10 three-bedroom layouts. While designed to serve the Native American community, the apartments will be available to all eligible households earning between 15-60 percent of the area median income (AMI). The development is conveniently located near public transportation, with CTA's Route 80 bus stops at Irving Park Road and Francisco Avenue, and the newly-routed #93 California/Dodge bus just one block east.
The $34 million development is expected to be completed early in the third quarter of 2026, following a 12-month construction cycle that began in July 2025. Residents interested in learning more about application opportunities can watch for announcements from Full Circle Communities as the project nears completion.
