Wicker Park's New 'Strip Club' Brings Nostalgic Photo Booth Experience to Damen Avenue

Wicker Park is about to welcome a unique new business with a nostalgic twist. Anthony and Andrea Vizzari, who first met in a Wicker Park apartment back in 2001, are returning to the neighborhood to open what they describe as Chicago's first vintage photo booth studio, just blocks from where their relationship began 25 years ago.

The aptly named 'Strip Club Photobooth Studio' at 1702 N. Damen Avenue is set to open this Friday, February 6. The 2,000 square-foot space, formerly home to Bellows Film Lab, will feature eleven photo booths – a mix of six vintage-inspired digital and five authentic vintage analog booths. Each photo strip will cost $7, and the studio welcomes people of all ages and even pets. Unlike typical photo booths tucked away in bars or venues, at The Strip Club, the photo booth itself is the main attraction. Each booth offers a unique format and slightly different look, with no screens for posing. "We take the digital completely out from the user's perspective. So it kind of strips away all of that sort of control... it's just genuine. It's you and your friends in this little enclosed space just enjoying the moment," Anthony explains.

Wicker Park residents and visitors are encouraged to check out this new addition to the neighborhood's creative landscape when doors open this Friday. With its celebration of analog technology and physical media, The Strip Club offers a refreshing departure from today's digital-dominated world – a perfect spot for creating tangible memories with friends, family, or even on a nostalgic solo adventure.
