Sunday Mornings Just Got Better: Wicker Park Farmers Market Returns May 3 — Plus a New 606 Fix-It Station for Cyclists
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Wicker Park ·
Spring is fully in bloom in Wicker Park, and the neighborhood has two fresh reasons to get outside this week and beyond.
First, mark your calendars: the beloved Wicker Park Farmers Market is making its grand return on Sunday, May 3 — and it's bigger than ever. Now in its 26th outdoor season, the market will run every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wicker Park Field House, 1425 N. Damen Ave., all the way through October 25. This year's lineup has expanded its fruit and produce offerings, alongside locally made cheeses, baked goods, meats, eggs, flowers, crafts, and artwork. Free weekly activities sweeten the deal: yoga at 9 a.m., Pilates at 10 a.m., kids' story time and crafts from 9–11 a.m., and a dedicated kids' play area running until 1 p.m. Dog owners, take note — Canine Crews will be on-site monthly at the Wicker Park Dog Park with pet treats, dog food, and training classes.
Meanwhile, cyclists along the 606 Trail have a shiny new community perk to celebrate. The Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce recently hosted a ribbon cutting at the Milwaukee Avenue entrance of the 606 to unveil a brand-new public bike fix-it station — a handy addition for the thousands of riders who use the trail each week. It's a small but meaningful upgrade that speaks to the neighborhood's commitment to sustainable, active transportation.
Whether you're a farmers market regular, a 606 trail-blazer, or both, Wicker Park is serving up the best of community living this spring. Visit wickerparkbucktown.com for market vendor details and upcoming neighborhood events!
