First, cocktail lovers, circle Monday, May 11 on your calendars: The Alley Cat is officially opening its doors. The brand-new Wicker Park bar is channeling the architecture and design vibes of Chicago from the 1920s through the 1940s — think moody Prohibition-era atmosphere with a contemporary twist. It's the kind of neighborhood watering hole that promises to become a fast favorite for anyone who loves a well-crafted drink with serious old-Chicago soul.

Meanwhile, a beloved Chicago deli has already planted its flag on Milwaukee Avenue. Chicago Pickle Eatery — the brand that launched in 2023 with a mission to bring New York City bodega-style sandwiches and breakfast and lunch staples to Chicago — has opened its third location at 1308 N.
