Uptown's Broadway Corridor Is Becoming a Culinary Destination: A Puerto Rican Supper Club and a Michelin-Pedigree Tortilleria Are Headed Your Way
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Uptown ·
Uptown's dining scene is about to get two major additions that prove this neighborhood is one of Chicago's most exciting food destinations — and neither one is playing it safe.
First up: Marina's Supper Club, a brand-new concept rooted in Puerto Rican culture, is coming to 4804 N. Broadway, right next door to the legendary Green Mill. What began as a ghost kitchen by Chef Eric Roldan has evolved into something far more ambitious — a full supper club experience blending elevated Puerto Rican cuisine, live music rooted in Puerto Rican rhythms, and a signature rum-forward cocktail program. Chef Roldan has described the project as being about "culture, community, and creating a space that celebrates where we come from." Marina's is eyeing a late summer 2026 opening, and neighbors who've already sampled Roldan's cooking are buzzing with anticipation.
Meanwhile, just down Broadway, a second food story is generating serious citywide attention. Molino Los Hermanos — from Michelin-starred chef Norman Fenton of the acclaimed Cariño — will bring a dual-concept tortilleria and casual restaurant to Uptown this summer. Centered on heirloom corn and traditional nixtamalization, the spot will feature an in-house molino, an open kitchen, tacos, ceviches, and house-made tortillas available to take home. With Cariño having just earned its first Michelin star as Chicago's 2025 Restaurant of the Year, expectations for this more casual sibling are sky-high.
Between a rum-soaked supper club and a Michelin-pedigree taqueria, Uptown's Broadway corridor is shaping up to be one of Chicago's must-visit dining streets by fall. Stay tuned to exploreuptown.org and right here on Socialhood for opening updates!
