Irving Park Art Space Lot'sa Debuts Bold New Exhibition Just in Time for the Fourth
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Irving Park ·
Irving Park neighbors, your holiday weekend just got a cultural upgrade. Lot'sa, the community art space at 4150 N. Elston Ave., is debuting a striking new photography exhibition — and it couldn't be timed more powerfully. Artists Marcus "Darling" Reese and Erika Grey are opening "This Is Not a Country," a thought-provoking show that asks the question: what is freedom when it is delayed, denied, or distorted? The free event features refreshments and marks the latest chapter in an ongoing series of collaborative projects between Darling and Grey.
The exhibition lands right here in Irving Park as the nation marks its 250th birthday — making Lot'sa one of the most meaningful places to spend part of your July 4th weekend. It's the kind of fearless, community-rooted art that reminds neighbors why Irving Park continues to punch above its weight as a cultural destination on Chicago's Northwest Side.
And if you're craving something sweet after soaking in the art, Irving Park has that covered too — Pretty Cool Ice Cream recently opened a brand-new production facility at 3929 N. Central Park Ave., tripling its output and bringing even more of its beloved handcrafted ice cream bars to local shelves this summer. Two more great reasons to love this neighborhood. Will you be stopping by Lot'sa this Fourth of July weekend? Tag a neighbor and share your plans in the comments below!
