Chinatown's Beloved Dumpling Destination Has Landed on Division Street — and Wicker Park Is All In

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Wicker Park ·

Dumpling lovers in Wicker Park, rejoice: one of Chicago's most celebrated dumpling restaurants has officially planted its flag on Division Street. Qing Xiang Yuan Dumplings — beloved by Chicagoans as QXY — has opened a second full-service location at 2018 W. Division St., bringing its legendary lineup of boiled, steamed, and pan-fried dumplings to the neighborhood after more than a year of renovations. The space, which previously housed El Bagel Cafe and Picante Taqueria, has been completely reimagined by the QXY team. Unlike the walk-in-only Chinatown original, the new Wicker Park outpost accepts both reservations and walk-ins — a welcome upgrade for anyone who has waited in line on Wentworth Avenue.

The menu carries all the hallmarks that made QXY a Chinatown institution since 2014, including Chinese teas and to-go frozen dumplings. Once its liquor license comes through, the Division Street spot will also pour beer staples like Asahi and Tsingtao — plus an exclusive lager brewed in collaboration with Off Color Brewing, crafted with aromatic herbal tea. Hours are 11:30 a.m.–9 p.m. daily.

It's yet another sign that Division Street is quietly becoming one of the hottest dining corridors on the Northwest Side. Between QXY's arrival and a wave of other newcomers transforming the block, there's never been a better reason to take a stroll down Division. Grab a table, order a steamer basket, and welcome the newest neighbor — head to 2018 W. Division St. and see what all the fuss is about!
