New Seven-Unit Residential Building Approved for West Morse Avenue in West Rogers Park

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/West Rogers Park ·

West Rogers Park is set to welcome a new residential development as the City of Chicago has recently approved a permit for a three-story plus basement, seven-unit residential building at 2222 West Morse Avenue. The permit, issued to Broadview Solutions LLC on October 28, comes with a reported cost of $986,000 and will include seven surface parking spaces and a masonry trash enclosure. The development is specified as an apartment building, indicating these will be rental units rather than condominiums.

Vari Architects has been named as the architect of record for the project, with MPI Contracting serving as the general contractor. The new building will replace a 1908-built frame single-family residence that was demolished in August 2023, bringing new housing options to this vibrant neighborhood. Future residents will benefit from convenient public transportation access, with the eastbound 96 Lunt bus connecting to the Rogers Park UP-N Metra train three-quarters of a mile east, or the Morse Red Line elevated train just over a mile away.

This development joins other recent housing initiatives in the area, adding to West Rogers Park's growing appeal for renters seeking quality housing options with good transit connections. Community members interested in learning more about this and other neighborhood developments can visit the Rogers Park Business Alliance website or attend upcoming community meetings where local projects are discussed.
