The CheckOut Launches Special Concert Series Celebrating Graceland West's Musical Heritage
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Graceland West ·
Graceland West residents have a new cultural gem to celebrate with The CheckOut music venue's launch of a special neighborhood concert series highlighting local musical talent. The innovative performance space, which transformed the long-vacant 7-Eleven at 4116 N. Clark Street, is creating deeper community connections through this exclusive series for Graceland West neighbors.
Seth Boustead, Executive Director of Access Contemporary Music (ACM), has extended personal invitations to community members through the Graceland West Community Association (GWCA) for upcoming performances at the venue. "The CheckOut has quickly established itself as a cultural hub, offering classical music concerts, cabarets, album listening parties, and music education opportunities in an intimate 60-seat setting," Boustead explained during a recent community meeting. The venue maintains playful nods to its convenience store past with unique touches like specialty slushies and the original door chime.
Residents interested in experiencing this neighborhood-exclusive concert series can follow the GWCA on Facebook and Instagram for special invitations to upcoming performances. This initiative represents a significant addition to Graceland West's vibrant community life, transforming what was once a vacant storefront into a space connecting neighbors through the arts.
