The CheckOut Music Venue Launches Special 'Cosmos Concert' Series for Graceland West Residents

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Graceland West ·

Graceland West residents have an exciting opportunity to experience one of the neighborhood's newest cultural gems this November. The CheckOut, the innovative music venue that transformed the former 7-Eleven at 4116 N. Clark Street, is launching a special concert series with an inaugural 'Cosmos Concert' featuring celestial-themed compositions.

Executive Director Seth Boustead of Access Contemporary Music (ACM) has extended a personal invitation to Graceland West neighbors through the community association for these performances. The concert will feature string quartets playing music inspired by space exploration, with interactive video elements incorporating human voices from the Earthling Project. The venue, which opened this fall after extensive renovation of the long-vacant convenience store, maintains playful nods to its retail past with touches like the original door chime and specialty slushies at the bar.

Residents interested in experiencing this neighborhood cultural addition can follow the Graceland West Community Association on social media for special invitations to upcoming performances. For more information about The CheckOut or to inquire about music lessons now being offered at the location, community members can contact [email protected].
