West Rogers Park Historical Exhibit Extended Through Year End at Northtown Library

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/West Rogers Park ·

West Rogers Park residents have a unique opportunity to explore their neighborhood's rich history as the 'Rogers Park and West Ridge: A History of Neighbors in Service' exhibit at Northtown Library has been extended through December 31, 2025. The exhibit, which began in May, showcases the diverse ways residents have built meaningful communities since the early 1900s through a collection of historical documents including fliers, brochures, and newsletters.

The display highlights influential local organizations such as the Rogers Park Woman's Club and North Town Woman's Club, alongside neighborhood block clubs and community groups that shaped the area's development. This extension comes as a result of the successful partnership between the Rogers Park/West Ridge Historical Society and the Chicago Public Library's Northside Neighborhood History Collection. The exhibit features items from the Rogers Park/West Ridge Community Collection that documents local families, businesses, organizations, and institutions that make this diverse neighborhood unique.

West Rogers Park residents and history enthusiasts are encouraged to visit the exhibit before the year's end. Those interested in research opportunities can contact the Northside Neighborhood History Collection at [email protected] to schedule an appointment to explore the extensive collection that chronicles the neighborhood's vibrant past.
