Graceland West Businesses Join City's 'Shop Local Chicago' Holiday Campaign

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Graceland West ·

Graceland West businesses are gearing up to participate in the recently launched 'Shop Local Chicago: Neighborhood Pride' campaign as the holiday shopping season approaches. The initiative, announced by Mayor Brandon Johnson and the Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP), encourages residents to explore neighborhood businesses throughout the city, including those along Montrose, Clark, and Irving Park in Graceland West.

The campaign comes at a perfect time for Graceland West's mix of small businesses, which anchor the residential community bordered by Montrose Avenue to the north, Irving Park Road to the south, Clark Street to the east, and Ashland Avenue to the west. The Graceland West Community Association (GWCA), which has been a cornerstone of neighborhood life since 1979, is supporting the initiative by highlighting local businesses in their communications to residents.

"The Shop Local Chicago campaign reminds us to discover and support small businesses during the upcoming holiday season," said a BACP representative. Graceland West residents and visitors are encouraged to share their experiences at neighborhood establishments through social media using campaign hashtags. The BACP is also hosting support webinars for business owners on holiday success strategies.
