JCFS Chicago Completes Landmark Expansion of Food Pantry and Community Services in West Rogers Park

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/West Rogers Park ·

West Rogers Park residents are celebrating the completion of a transformative expansion at the Jewish Child and Family Services (JCFS) Chicago facility. The newly renovated center has quadrupled the size of its food pantry, doubled its community space, and created a dedicated area for its Intensive Day Program serving adults with mental health challenges.

The expansion strengthens JCFS Chicago's deep commitment to West Rogers Park, where the organization has established a significant presence with over 220 staff members based in the neighborhood. "The center of gravity of our agency is in West Rogers Park," noted Howard Sitron, CEO of JCFS Chicago, highlighting the organization's continued investment in local services. The enhanced food pantry comes at a crucial time, providing vital support to families during the holiday season while ensuring community members don't need to choose between paying bills and putting food on their tables.

Community members are invited to an open house celebration on December 14 to tour the expanded facilities and learn about additional resources available through JCFS Chicago's comprehensive support programs. Residents interested in supporting the expanded services can volunteer at the food pantry or attend upcoming seasonal workshops designed to foster neighborhood connections during the winter months.
