West Rogers Park residents have new opportunities to stay active and engaged this winter as Phillip Rogers Park rolls out its comprehensive Winter 2026 program schedule beginning January 5. The Chicago Park District announced that registration for these activities is already underway, with online registration having begun December 8 and in-person registration available since December 13.
The 22.35-acre community park, located on North Washtenaw Avenue, will offer a diverse range of weekly programs running through mid-March. Activities include structured sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with varying timeframes to accommodate different schedules. Park District Superintendent and CEO Carlos Ramirez-Rosa emphasized the importance of these offerings, noting that "getting out to an event or signing up for a class are exciting ways to stay active and connected during the winter time."
West Rogers Park families interested in participating can explore options on the Chicago Park District website or visit the park directly to learn more about specific programs. The initiative is part of a citywide effort to provide affordable, accessible winter recreation opportunities across Chicago neighborhoods, ensuring that residents have meaningful ways to engage with their community throughout the colder months.
