Rogers Park Gateway Plaza Welcomes New Investment for 2026 Revitalization

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/West Rogers Park ·

West Rogers Park's Gateway Plaza, a 200,000 square foot property, was recently sold to New York investment firm Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation (AAC) for an undisclosed price. This significant commercial transaction marks an important development for the neighborhood's economic landscape as we enter 2026.

The acquisition comes as Rogers Park business owners continue demonstrating their commitment to neighborhood vitality. Recently, local entrepreneurs collaborated during Small Business Saturday, setting up a welcome station outside Alexander's Restaurant at 6764 N. Sheridan Rd. near Pratt Boulevard close to Loyola University campus. As Carolina Juarez, business district manager for the nonprofit Rogers Park Business Alliance noted, these initiatives are crucial because "the money stays in the neighborhood."

West Rogers Park residents interested in learning more about upcoming developments at Gateway Plaza or getting involved in local business initiatives can contact the Rogers Park Business Alliance at 773-508-5885 or visit their office at 1448 W. Morse Ave. The community is encouraged to participate in the ongoing "Live Love Shop Rogers Park" rebate program, supporting independently-owned neighborhood businesses throughout the winter months.
