Warner Park and Gardens Announces Winter Wellness Series for Graceland West Residents
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Graceland West ·
Warner Garden Park, a unique community space in Graceland West, is launching a new Winter Wellness Series beginning February 1, 2026. This rare neighborhood gem, which was once a vacant lot transformed into a private park by Lois Buenger, is now maintained by the Warner Park and Gardens Board of Directors and funded almost entirely by the Graceland West Community Association. The small community park, where residents regularly enjoy sitting on benches and walking the paths, will now host weekly wellness activities throughout February.
The initiative represents the latest effort from the Graceland West Community Association (GWCA), the non-profit organization established in 1979 that represents the neighborhood. The GWCA continues its mission of encouraging participation from neighbors, businesses, and schools by offering these new wellness opportunities. The series aligns with the association's focus on environmental initiatives and community resources through volunteerism and member involvement. Activities will include morning meditation, winter bird watching walks, and cold-weather gardening workshops tailored to Graceland West's abundant greenery and oak trees.
Residents interested in participating or volunteering can contact the Graceland West Community Association at [email protected] or visit their website for complete scheduling details. The Winter Wellness Series welcomes neighbors of all ages and abilities, reinforcing Graceland West's reputation as one of Chicago's most engaged and environmentally conscious communities.
