Graceland West Gears Up for Spring Bike Swap & Community Ride at Lake View High School

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Graceland West ·

Cyclists and families in Graceland West have something exciting to look forward to this spring: the Graceland West Community Association (GWCA) has announced a community cycling event set for Saturday, April 26th at 10:00 AM at Lake View High School, 4015 North Ashland. The sustainability-focused celebration promises fun for riders of all ages and abilities.

The event is packed with activities designed to keep bikes — and neighbors — rolling. A Bike & Bike Parts Swap and Donation station will be hosted in partnership with The Recyclery, giving unused cycles and components a second life. Young riders can tackle a Kids' Obstacle Course run by Pedalheads, while a Bike Decoration Station — led by students and staff from Quantum LEEP Academy — will help participants get parade-ready. The festivities will culminate in a neighborhood Bike Parade, an all-ages ride through the streets of Graceland West celebrating cycling as a green and joyful way to get around. Adaptive bikes will also be available, courtesy of Quantum LEEP Academy, ensuring the event is inclusive for everyone.

The event reflects the GWCA's ongoing commitment to sustainability, community connection, and neighborhood vibrancy. Whether you're dusting off a forgotten bike or bringing the whole family out for the ride, this is one spring Saturday not to miss.
