Graceland West Gears Up for April's All-Ages Bike Swap, Obstacle Course & Neighborhood Parade

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Graceland West ·

Spring is barely here and Graceland West is already planning one of its most fun-filled events of the season. The Graceland West Community Association has announced a community cycling celebration set for Sunday, April 26th at 10:00 AM, kicking off at Lake View High School — and it promises something for riders of every age and skill level.

The morning lineup is packed: neighbors can swap or donate unused bikes and parts through The Recyclery, giving two-wheelers a second life instead of a landfill. Young riders can test their skills on a kids' obstacle course hosted by Pedalheads, designed to help budding cyclists build confidence on two wheels. Then, before the big ride, attendees can stop by the Bike Decoration Station — run in partnership with students and staff from Quantum LEEP Academy — to deck out their wheels in parade-ready style. The grand finale is a fun, inclusive, all-ages Bike Parade through the neighborhood streets, celebrating cycling as a sustainable and joyful way to get around. Quantum LEEP Academy will also have adaptive bikes on hand, ensuring the event is welcoming to every rider in the community.

It's a morning that blends sustainability, neighborhood pride, and pure fun — vintage Graceland West. Mark your calendars for April 26th, follow @graceland_west_gwca on Instagram for updates, and start dusting off that bike in the garage. The neighborhood is ready to roll.
