Green Thumbs Wanted: Graceland West's Summer Garden Walk Is Open for Sign-Ups Right Now

Spring has fully arrived in Graceland West — and if the blooming front yards along Greenview and Cullom are any indication, this year's Summer Garden Walk is shaping up to be one for the books. The Graceland West Community Association has officially opened sign-ups for neighbors to show their garden or volunteer for the beloved warm-weather tradition, and spots are going fast.
The Garden Walk is one of the GWCA's most cherished annual events, inviting neighbors and visitors alike to wander the neighborhood's lush residential streets and draw inspiration from the green havens tucked behind its iconic gray stones and two-flats. It's a fitting celebration for a neighborhood whose residents count gardening and landscaping among their top passions — and whose eastern border is defined by the 121-acre Graceland Cemetery Arboretum, one of Chicago's most stunning green spaces. Warner Park, the GWCA-funded community green space developed from a once-vacant lot, adds even more horticultural heart to the mix.
Whether you've been tending a show-stopping perennial bed for years or just planted your first raised vegetable garden this spring, the GWCA wants to hear from you.
