By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Graceland West ·
Graceland West neighbors, dust off your helmets and pump up your tires — the neighborhood's much-anticipated community cycling celebration is officially happening tomorrow. The Graceland West Community Association is hosting its annual Bike Parade event on Sunday, April 26th at 10:00 AM at Lake View High School, and the lineup is packed with something for every rider, from wobbly-wheeled toddlers to seasoned commuters.
The morning kicks off with a Bike & Bike Parts Swap and Donation in partnership with The Recyclery, giving unused gear a second life and a new home. Young riders can test their skills on a Kids' Obstacle Course hosted by Pedalheads, while a Bike Decoration Station — run jointly with students and staff from Quantum LEEP Academy — will help everyone get their wheels parade-ready. Adaptive bikes will also be available courtesy of Quantum LEEP Academy, making the event genuinely inclusive for all ages and abilities. The festivities culminate in a fun, all-ages Bike Parade through the neighborhood streets, celebrating cycling as a sustainable and joyful way to get around.
It's a fitting celebration for a neighborhood where biking and cycling consistently ranks among residents' top interests. Whether you're a daily bike commuter or just looking for a fun way to spend a Sunday morning with the family, tomorrow's event is the perfect excuse to roll out the door.
