Summer's Calling: Graceland West's Festival Season Is About to Kick Into High Gear
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Graceland West ·
Graceland West neighbors, mark your calendars — Chicago's 2026 summer festival season is officially revving up, and some of the city's best street events are practically in your backyard. According to NBC Chicago's just-released guide to this summer's festivals and outdoor events, more than 20 street festivals are set to roll out across the city between May and September — and a handful land right on the edges of the neighborhood.
Leading the charge for Graceland West residents is the Belmont-Sheffield Music Festival, running May 22–24 just steps from the Belmont CTA Red Line stop — a quick, walkable trip from the neighborhood's southern end. For a community where seeing live music ranks among residents' top passions on Nextdoor, this one is practically a home game. And with Lincoln Square's beloved Maifest also scheduled for May 29–31, the festive energy on Chicago's North Side this month is impossible to ignore.
Of course, nobody knows how to throw a community celebration better than Graceland West itself. The GWCA's own warm-weather calendar — anchored by GWCAFest and the Summer Garden Walk — promises to keep the neighborhood buzzing well into August. Whether you're hopping on the Red Line to catch live music at Belmont-Sheffield or waiting for your neighbors to open their garden gates, this is shaping up to be one of the most event-packed summers the North Side has seen in years.
